Daywise Itinerary

After arriving at the NJP St. / Bagdogra Airport transfers to Phuentsholing which is called the Indo-Bhutan Border or the “Gateway of Thunder Dragons” via Gedu Town. Rest day is in leisure. 

Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.

 

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer towards Bhutan's Capital, Thimphu. After check in to the hotel, you may visit below places:

Clock Tower Square: Clock Tower Square is a central landmark in Thimphu. It’s a vibrant public space surrounded by various shops, restaurants. The square features a striking clock tower that is beautifully adorned with traditional Bhutanese motifs, blending modern functionality with cultural aesthetics.

Tashi Choe Dzong(Outer View): Tashi Choe Zong is a well-known architectural and cultural site in Thimphu, Bhutan. It's not just a place of significance but also an embodiment of Bhutanese heritage.

Kuensel Phodrang: Kuensel Phodrang is also famous with the name of Buddha Dordenma Statue. Great Buddha Dordenma is a gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue in the mountains of Bhutan. It stands at an impressive height of 51.5 metres (169 feet), making it one of the largest statues of the Buddha in the world. The statue is constructed of bronze and is covered in gold, giving it a striking appearance that catches the eye from a great distance. The Buddha Dordenma statue is not just a religious icon but also serves as a symbol of peace and prosperity for Bhutan. 

Handicrafts Market: Handicrafts market is a local market where you may do shopping for your families, friends or any relatives.

Folk Heritage Museum: The Folk Heritage Museum, located on the outskirts of Thimphu. The museum is a 19th century traditional rammed mud and timber house. The museum displays various materials related to the Bhutanese culture and way of life. Exhibitions include rural households, artefacts, equipment, objects and tools.

Takin Reserve & Mini Zoo: Motithang Takin Preserve, located in the Motithang district of Thimphu, Bhutan is a wildlife reserve area for Bhutan takin, the national animal of Bhutan. Going for a walk in the grassy region while looking for the timid, incredible Takin with chirping of the extraordinary Himalayan birds setting the background sound, it very well may become an exclusive affair which is guaranteed amid Motithang Takin Preserve. The preserve likewise protects the sambar deer and barking deer.

Return to the hotel & overnight stay at Thimphu.

Paro Airport View: Paro Airport is the only International Airport in Bhutan which  is renowned for its stunning and dramatic setting. Nestled in a deep valley surrounded by steep mountains, the airport offers breathtaking views. The runway is short and situated between high peaks, which makes the approach and takeoff particularly scenic and thrilling. 

National Museum of Bhutan: The National Museum of Bhutan, known as the Rinpoché Museum in Dzongkha, is located in the town of Paro. It is housed in the Ta Dzong, a circular fortress that was originally built as a watchtower in the 17th century. The museum was established in 1968 and is renowned for its rich collection of Bhutanese artefacts, including traditional clothing, religious art, and historical relics.

Rinpung Dzong:  Rinpung Dzong, sometimes referred to as Paro Dzong, is a large dzong - Buddhist monastery and fortress. Beautifully lit-up at night, the dzong has many illustrations portraying the life of Buddha. A hike to the top of the fortress welcomes you with the spectacular view of nearby valleys. The dzong also holds the colourful annual festival Paro Tshechu which makes it even more impressive than it already is.

Tiger Nest Trek: After breakfast, proceed to Taktsang Monastery - Tiger's Nest Monastery, also known as Paro Taktsang, is one of Bhutan's most iconic landmarks. It's a striking sight and a popular trekking destination, especially for the adventure lovers. To complete the trek, a 3 hours to 4 hours hike was needed to reach the monastery 2 to 3 hours needed to come down to the base point. Ponies are available to reach at the certain point of this trek which is a cafeteria point.

Chele-La Excursion: Chele La Pass is one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan. The pass offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, including glimpses of the Himalayas on clear days. It's a popular spot for tourists who want to experience the breathtaking beauty of Bhutan's high-altitude landscapes.

Tamchog Lhakhang: Tamchog Lhakhang is a significant Buddhist monastery located in Bhutan. It's situated in the Paro Valley, which is known for its stunning landscapes and historical sites. The monastery is famous for its unique architecture, which includes traditional Bhutanese design elements and intricate woodwork. It’s also associated with the building of iron bridges in Bhutan, reflecting Thangtong Gyalpo’s contributions to infrastructure in the region.
